Once a year at the peak of summer, Mount Rainier National Park becomes covered with a blanket of wildflowers, the vast numbers and varieties of which are legendary, making for amazing mountain photography wall art. Many of the flowers are red, yellow, and white, but the floral show alongside Reflection Lakes this year was mostly pink and purple. At the center of this cove, a small stream trickles into the lake making ripples atop the reflection of the peak. The thousands of old growth trees surrounding the lake and the mountain help soak the rainwater into the earth before it resurfaces from the water table in spring that feed these creeks with clear, clean water. The magic of this Mount Rainier photograph is that you see an entire ecosystem all within one picture. And water is seen in all of its forms, ice, snow, liquid, mist, and clouds.
