Creating unique tree photography is a distinct challenge, but one that this Pacific Northwest forest photography artist loves undertaking. One thing that makes it tricky is that the trees in a forest are usually so close together that it’s rare for good light to fall on them. So, when we pulled up to this overlook that had views into the heart of the Cascade Mountain landscape, my attention did not go to “the view” but rather directly to this amazing spruce tree which was standing alone and glowing in the early morning light.
 
The gorgeous lighting in this rainforest photography print shows the fine details of the bark, needles, and lichen covering the tree. Far in the background of this forest art stand the trees on the other side of the valley, which are in the shade, creating the contrast in color that makes the main tree in this forest art pop.
