Like many mountains, Mount Rainer, also known as Tahoma, looks very different depending on which side you see it from. This location to the east of the massive volcanic peak is called Sunrise. From here, the peak has a very rounded, feminine form, with a veil-like ridge trailing down to the right. Despite being taken from Sunrise, I actually took this fine art Mount Rainier photograph just after the sun had set. The golden glow of the warm summer sun was still hanging in the hazy sky and spreading warm diffused light down over the Pacific Northwest mountain landscape before me. It was the perfect lighting for wildflower Mount Rainier photography artwork.
 
These delicate daises being so close in the foreground, and the mountain so far away, I had to use a landscape photography technique called focus stacking to keep all of the image in focus. I took a series of photos, focusing first up close, then further and further back until I reached the mountain. Then I used Photoshop to merge the photos, making every detail in this Mount Rainier photograph sharp as a tack and able to be printed all the way up to 8 foot wide large mountain wall art Metal Prints.
