I captured this late evening fine art Skagit River photograph from high atop Sauk Mountain just as the sun was getting ready to set. It had been completely socked in (or should I say Sauked in) with fog for most of my hike, but to my relief and delight, the fog thinned enough to let this warm, glowing light fill the Skagit Valley and light up this limited edition Skagit River photography art print. 
 
The river weaves through the valley like a snake, forming a “S” in all the Skagit River pictures I took from this angle. I generally like taking river pictures from much closer to the water, but for this Skagit River landscape photography print, the vantage point with the trees and alpine wildflowers in the foreground is pure magic.
