North Cascade Mountains Aglow

This range of the North Cascades that lies just North of the Mount Baker Highway is brightly illuminated against a dark background.

Fine Art Mountain Photography that Touches the Soul

Winter is the hardest time of the year to create colorful mountain photography art. If I’m lucky I get blue skies and green trees during the day, but to get rich vibrant colors, it all comes down to sunset mountain photography. So that usually means snowshoeing all day to get about 30 minutes of good mountain photography time. In this case, I parked at the Heather Meadows Base Area and snowshoed about 2.5 miles mostly uphill to get this remarkable mountain photography perspective from Artist Point.

While we’ve all seen a million mountain photography black and white prints by Ansel Adams and other great nature photographers, living in the Pacific Northwest, we get all the grey we can handle, and what we generally need is more color. That’s why even my winter mountain photography art prints are rich and vibrant, celebrating the glory and richness of nature’s beauty.
