Cape Flattery is Washington State's northwestern most point, as well as the most northwest point in the contiguous United States.

Fine Art Pacific Northwest Islands Photography

Jutting into the Pacific Ocean at the northern tip of the Olympic Peninsula, this Cape Flattery picture is as Pacific Northwest as photography can get. The viewing platform is less than a mile from the trailhead, but is surrounded by trees, so in order to take this Pacific Northwest islands photograph, I had to climb the fence and lean my tripod out past the branches to get a clear picture.

I used a long exposure to make the water seem to move and froth, and the crashing surf brought out the turquoise blue of the water in this nautical wall art print. The sun had just set, and the salmon colored sky perfectly complements the turquoise water, making this Pacific Northwest photography perfectly balanced, and both peaceful and dynamic.
