Dazzling Sun On Cascade Lake

Living in the Pacific Northwest is truly a blessing. It also has its challenges as well, most notably the extended periods of overcast grey and rainy weather. As a Pacific Northwest photographer, I feel it's my duty to bring more sunshine into peoples’ lives, and that's why so many of my nature landscape photography wall art prints have warm, sunny colors and many have the sun directly in the photograph.
 
I created this Pacific Northwest photography wall art on a mid-October photography trip to Orcas Island. I was camping in Moran State Park which encompasses over 5,000 acres of Orcas Island which is located in the Puget Sound’s San Juan Islands in Washington State. I chose this gorgeous blue-sky day to hike around Cascade Lake where I captured this powerful Pacific Northwest lakes photography art piece from its northwestern shore. Because it was so late in the season, the sun hung low in the sky, and by using a small aperture, I was able to capture a six-pointed sunburst around the sun and six-pointed stars around the sparkling reflection in the lake.
