Island Escape

The coastline of the Salish Sea is an incredibly beautiful and tranquil place. This sailboat photography Metal Print was taken from Chuckanut Island, aka Dot Island, but it looks like it could be taken from any number of the San Juan Islands. As the sun gets low in the sky in this nautical wall art print, the sailboat raises its anchor, ready to escape into the sunset. 
 
I accessed the island, which is a nature preserve and a wildlife sanctuary, by kayak specifically to do fine art island photography. The sun bursting through the trees gives you the feeling of the warm summer evening that I had when I captured this island and boat photograph. Madrone trees like the one on the left thrive particularly well in a marine environment, as apparently do I.
