I captured this fine art Second Beach photograph on my honeymoon in 2015. My wife and I asked for REI gift cards as wedding gifts and we used them to buy backpacking gear. This was our very first trip with that new gear and we were thrilled to camp in such a glorious beach and to get the opportunity to create stunning fine art beach photography art!
The skies were perfectly clear the whole time which didn’t make for colorful sunrise or sunset beach photography art, but the clear blue skies were a delight and sleeping to the sound of the roaring waves was magical and incredibly romantic. Second Beach is several miles long, and makes a gradual, shallow decent into the Pacific Ocean. As a result, when the tide is low the beach gets huge, and small creeks and springs crisscross the beach creating a mirrored surface and catching sunlight in this panoramic beach photography wall art print. The heat of the sun vaporizes water, and the incoming surf contributes to make a big bank of mist which glows gold against the black silhouette of this tree covered beach sea stack. As a general guideline, artwork above a sofa or console should span anywhere from two-thirds of the furniture width to one and a third it's width. In larger rooms with high ceilings, increasing scale creates a more balanced and immersive result.

Our gallery pieces are displayed with an ultra high gloss finish because it delivers the greatest depth, contrast, and dimensional realism. The surface captures available light and reflects it back through the image, which enhances clarity and makes the artwork feel lifelike.
While the finish is reflective, normal room reflections do not obscure the image. Your eye naturally adjusts and focuses on the photograph itself. Direct light fixtures, however, can create visible reflections if aimed straight at the surface.
If you choose to install track lighting to intensify color and impact, we recommend mounting it close to the wall, typically 12 to 18 inches out, depending on the artwork height. This positioning illuminates the piece without creating unwanted reflections.
For spaces with unavoidable glare, we offer a satin finish that maintains rich color with minimal reflection. It does not have the same depth as gloss, but it performs well in challenging lighting conditions. Samples of both finishes are available in our galleries upon request.

Under normal indoor display conditions, our metal prints maintain their color integrity for approximately 60 to 80 years with no noticeable fading. For spaces with direct sunlight exposure, we recommend upgrading to our Superlife finish. This option utilizes advanced UV-resistant dye technology, extending color stability up to four times beyond the standard finish. Superlife prints are available for a 20 percent investment premium and are visually identical to the standard finish, offering enhanced durability without altering the aesthetic.
