Skagit River In The Mist

Sauk Mountain is one of my very favorite hikes for creating Pacific Northwest artwork. A long, bumpy road brings you to the trail which starts in the alpine wildflower fields, and winds through those floral meadows for 2 miles to reach 360 degree views perfect for mountain and river photography. 
 
I took this fine art Skagit River photography wall art piece from a vantage point about halfway up the trail, with the view expanding to the south where the Sauk River weaves down to the lower right corner where it joins the mighty Skagit River. The stunning pink wildflowers in the foreground and the small but tough alpine evergreen trees hold back a cloud bank on the left, and sunbeams filter into the valley from the right in this fine art river landscape photography print.
